Congratulations to Shana Prevette of Leesburg, FL who was chosen as the 25th Annual Miss Hawaiian Tropic^® United States. Shana was chosen for her excellence in fitness, fashion and demonstration of general health and sun care. She received an assortment of prizes and will go on to represent the brand in advertising and at promotional opportunities worldwide, along with at the international contest in the spring.

The week of rigorous rehearsals and preliminary events led up to the dramatic evening of beauty and grace as the contestants competed during the finale, themed "Island Radiance," on September 29th. Throughout the week, the models were involved in photo shoots, teambuilding activities such as a sand castle competition and a special showcase at a Hawaiian Luau where they displayed costumes representing their state.

The weeklong festivities and main event were filmed by Bennett Productions, Inc. for an upcoming one-hour televised special that will broadcast nationally in the spring of 2008. All events were hosted by A.J. Hammer, who currently hosts TV’s most provocative entertainment show Showbiz Tonight on CNN Headline News and Sirius Satellite Radio’s "The Pulse". Jordan Segundo, Hawaii’s first American Idol contestant, sang and performed throughout the event.

The top three runners-up were: Nicole Belt, Harrah’s Rincon Casino, San Diego, CA; Hillary Fisher, Columbia, SC and Chloe Kalin, Cleveland, OH.

This year, a special title was handed out to one luck lady – Miss Island Radiance. This went to someone who represented the theme with her inner and outer beauty and to someone who could be the face of the latest Hawaiian Tropic^® product, Island Radiance. The winner was Kari Gibson of Spring Break Tour - Gulf.

Miss Congeniality was awarded to Breanna Bone of Jackson, Mississippi and Miss Photogenic was awarded to Amber Taylor of Aspen Colorado.
